This book has a lot of usable ideas and how-to projects, including how to make a basic picture frame, how to make a built-in bookcase. It really removes a lot of intimidation when you look at the steps. There’s information on color theory, proportion, lighting, styles of decorating, etc. It lists the three major styles as contemporary, traditional and ethnic. It doesn’t go into specific styles like Victorian, Arts and Crafts or Southwestern, like some other books do.
I looked at several books in the shop, and this one kept my attention for a long, long time. Time Life usually does a good job on all its projects, but this one really does it for me.
